Well that turned out to be a bit harder than I expected! I'm knackered! That was just supposed to be a stroll out the markets and back to test out the boots...what I didn't anticipate was carrying 6 - 7 kg of awkward shaped shopping bags with handles that cut your hands to pieces - ouch!
At least I beat the rain!
Ok so the boots are really nice - very comfortable, I only had 1 layer of medium thickness socks and my feet were toasty warm, not sweaty though so breathability is good - it just isn't cold enough in Melbourne to be able to gauge how they'll be up high. The rigid soles are just bendy enough so I can walk without feeling like I've got planks of wood strapped to my feet and the ankle support and heel grip is excellent.
I do have the beginnings of a slight blister on the sole of my foot so i'll have to keep an eye on that - i'll have to do a long walk, at least 10km, every weekend from now on to really get them worn in properly.
Happy so far.
cup of tea and a sit down required, before starting on this weeks cookathon - have to prepare my meat based breakfasts (kerala lamb and saffron chicken curry this week!), lunches and dinners for the next few days - thank god for tupperware! - whatever happened to relaxing weekends?
